    Hey Gaby,
Its just too dificult to accept you’re gone. My best friend and confidante is no more?! How do I move on? Who do I talk to? Who’s to guide me now? How do I make sense of anything anymore? Who’s going to care for me like you did? Whose hug is going to crush me enough to heal my brokenness? Who’s laughter and jokes is going to lift me up when I’m down? How are we going to push all that we planned and dreamed to achieve? Babs and I were looking forward to our usual video call and give you a great welcome back defeating covid and…….

It was just about time everything was unfolding from years of pain and challenges to healing and beauty, and self worth and Martine, and so much goodies God was dropping in your life.

You are truly the angel you always said you are and you lived well Habibi. You did! And I am proud of you and consoled you’ve joined the heavenly hosts.

We love you as much as you loved and cared for all. Rest well buddy!

Forever in our hearts till we meet again!

  8. Zeina and Isam Akkawi - February 19, 2021 reply

Dear Gaby, you left too soon! In the few times we got to share a meal with you and Martine, we had a great laugh. Your wit and sense of humor made us feel as if we have known you for ages. It didn’t take us much to notice the passionate love and appreciation you and Martine had to each other. And dear friend Martine, we can’t even imagine what you are going through by loosing the love of your life. May the dear lord help ease your pain and sorrow. Gaby will be looking over you from Heaven. May his beautiful soul Rest In Peace.

  9. Prof. Bernard Baiden - February 18, 2021 reply

I am still struggling to come to terms that my buddy, Gaby, has assumed his angelic role sooner than expected.
The shock, pain and grief is as real as ever.
There will be no one like you, Gaby Mattouk. Simply brilliant, caring, loving, selfless and meticulous.
You showed me how to hope, believe and work for the common good of humanity.
You always cared for the vulnerable in the society as clearly demonstrated even in business with your desire for housing people in the middle to low income brackets.
You always saw what many could not see and made provision for them.
You were an angel assigned to many on this earth and you certainly made a positive impact in their lives.
I believe you accomplished your assignment and your maker deemed it fit for your return to glory where he will be with you forever.
Now you will know no pain, hurt, disappointment and betrayal.
You will now be filled with the Father’s love, peace and joy for eternity.
    Gaby …..forever my buddy.

  10. Phyllis Engmann - February 18, 2021 reply

    Architect Pascal Donnir (AGIA):

    Dear Gabby
You will always remain in my thoughts and heart 💯% as my best Mentor, Leader, and Father in my career as a young and developing architect,
Your quick wittedness and superior intelligence is beyond the marvel’s that others in the construction business have tried to display since I started out in the field. Your matured direction in the industry has really brought true wealth to many who over the years could not have made life so easy going by their own effort. You are very innovative, and smart with your choices. You never refused to share your best ideas to me. I saw and I appreciated you well more than I could believe I would do when I met you first. I and my colleague Hassan Mohammed Yakubu, who introduced me to you so you adopt me to work with you since 2019…we know you are in the house of God fully blessed.

May you have Eternal Joy in Heaven . God bless your soul and keep you happy.

    Travel safe.
May our loved ones on the other side receive you with joy.

  13. Martine - February 16, 2021 reply

    My dearest darling Gaby,

Today, Feb 16th, I am going to lay my eyes on you for the last time. I just want to tell you all what I couldn’t tell you before.

I wish I could hug you on more time, kiss you and cuddle your hair, and see that smile of yours that melts my heart.

I know your soul has already taken the lead, and you have started your journey to a better place.

I pray that with your pure heart, and huge love, your road to Heaven will be a smooth ride. May your soul fly freely to Heaven, leaving behind all the pain, the fear, and the exhaustion that I have seen in your eyes the last weeks.

You fought like no one would have. You kept telling the doctors that you will stand up and walk in few days, and that you will be better. You fought not for yourself, as selfless as you are, but for me and everyone who loved you.

You always used to say that you are Gabriel, the chief angel. And we would laugh about it. You are now and always have been my angel, my guardian angel.

Remember, we always used to say we are a single soul in 2 bodies. Now we are 2 souls in one heart. My heart will beat for your and me, and I shall keep your memory alive, to all those who knew you, and those who are yet to know about you through me.

Rest in peace my love, my husband, my friend, my partner, my consoling shoulder, my strength, my lover, my soul mate…. My life!

    Martine, your wifey….
    I love you!xxxxx

I’m just learning of this sad news on Valentines Day

Gaby, when I first met you all those years ago, you shared a quote with me that has stayed with me.

‘There are 3 types of people in this world.

    Those that make things happen

    Those that wonder what happened

And those that say What happened?’

I shared this very quote with a sister 2 days ago and you immediately came to mind as if you were the one whispering it in my ears. At the time of sharing it, I had no idea you had left us.

Now you have left me wondering ‘what happened???’

    Why so soon Gaby?
    What happened?

  27. Abdo & Vicky Toura - February 14, 2021 reply

    Gaby oh Gaby!!!
It’s been four days now and we still can’t believe that you’ve left us!
Your passing has created a big big gap in our life. I always hold my phone expecting to see a message or a joke from you. Just can’t come to the fact that you’re no more.
Your big heart, your loud laugh, your jokes !
We spent the best of times together.
All we can say is that this is destiny and the Lord knows best that’s why he took you so soon away from us.
We thank you for all the good times we had together and pray that you’re in a better place now overlooking and guiding all of us here.
We will always remember you in whatever we do.
Love you our dear brother and best friend.

    Abdo & Vicky

Oh my! Gabby…I am still shocked…what sad news that such a gentle, jovial, never-a-dull-moment soul like you is gone. In my brief time with you, I laughed and rolled literally, and you are just such an amazingly nice soul. Rest on Gabby, the Lord needs you more. Adieus my dear friend!

  29. Frank & Zenobia Beecham - February 13, 2021 reply

Gaby was a special BROTHER!!! Oh the many mischievous smiles and laughter. The happy glint in his eyes when he had a funny story to tell and the deep, belly laughter that would follow.
We will miss the times we talked and how he would ask of the welfare of all our children, the golf games with him both on the Achimota Golf Course and the Tema County Golf Course. Even before swinging his club he could manage a naughty stance, with quite an expression, after which the laughter would resound. Sleep on in peace, Gaby.

May God give strength to Martine, and may your Soul Rest In Peace.

A letter to my brother and friend

    To Gaby Anthony Mattouk
    Heaven, Eternity

    My dear General,

    God bids you come
    Adios my brother and friend
By your deeds the world has known
    You are one special creation

Gosh! What untainted love you showed
A giving heart to a fault
Beats the logic of man’s established greed
You were as loving as God is love

    Gaby? Nooo not Gaby too
Always the chorus to news of your departure
Biding a little longer, earnestly did we all pray
Your Martine, Carlos, Roni, Christopher, Siblings, Nephews, Nieces, Grand children, friends, colleagues, all who heard.

God! Why did you forsake us
Answer us we pray; oh now we know
Best builder, oh You needed the best builder
    Your wisest choice indeed

    Gabriel, Gods own messenger
Angel among men here on earth
Bound to suffer for innocence, injustices, clipped wings
Yonder now fly, fly away to freedom

    Gaby fly away to freedom
Away from the hurts and ills of this existence
Bidding you adios my brother and friend till we meet again
    Yours Sincerely,

    Edusei

Uncle Gaby. I don’t know what to say. I am too sad. I can’t gather the words to express how you touched my life. God, why did you take him now? And why did he have to go through the suffering and the pain?

I will miss you. Your laughter. Your kindness. All of you.

God knows best. He planned your life like this. I am grateful I got to know you, learn from you.

You are defiantly cracking jokes or suing someone in heaven 🙂 Look over Roni and Christopher and the grandchildren for they were your work.

    Rest well, AMO GABY.
