Mr. Haizel was an amazing Maths teacher. He was fun and charismatic and had a way of making difficult concepts easy for us. Math was not my strong subject but he managed to help me ace it in the GCE. He also spent a lot of time sharing with us about his strong faith outside of class time. I will forever be grateful to him for being a great teacher and mentor. I’m a teacher today, largely because of his inspiration. He’ll always be remembered fondly. May he rest in peace in the Lord.

Today, our son, brother, and uncle starts his final journey to his creator. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one the chain will link again. Fare thee well William Kweku Aduku Haizel 1 3.

Such sad news. I was failing in math till he tutored me. The way he taught me finally made me see things in a way that finally made sense to me and I not only passed but actually did well in math for the first time in my life at the age of 16. I will never forget him – truly stellar teacher! RIP

What a loss to those who knew him! I loved every minute of his class. Quite an intriguing personality, full of life. His chalk pellets stung, but were sweet and forgivable. I had always wondered whatever happened to this gentle man. Yes, by all standards he was one of my favourite teachers next to Mr Brown. Rest well Mr Haizel, I’ll always remember you. Opanyin, Damirifa Due!!!

Really very sorry to hear this. Respected him and admired him. Got to meet his family a few years ago. He was clever, funny, friendly and knowlegable. Sleep well.

A Successful Man
“That man is a success –
who has lived well, laughed often and loved much;
who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children;
who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
who leaves the world better than he found it;
who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it;
who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had. ”

Will always have fond memories of Mr Haizel. I liked the way he spoke which was short and precise. He really did let us know there was a ‘fun’ side to Mathematics though we shook our heads in disbelief when he said this. So happy to have known you and really sad to hear of your passing. Rest in perfect peace.

Really upset by this totally unexpected sad news. Mr Haizel, you taught us O-Level Maths and Add Maths and developed in me the confidence to attack any mathematical or logic problem then or since. “Everything comes from first principles”, you used to say. A real foundational teacher and a pillar of my academic life. I was delighted to find out later that your nephew had come to work for us. Intelligence definitely runs in the family!
My heartfelt condolences to your family; you will be greatly missed. Rest in the eternal peace of the Lord.
